Vacation Bible School will take place August 3–7 this summer. The theme is that of a medieval pilgrimage. In order to grow together in faith, help from many parishioners is needed. Will you join us on our journey? Following are four ways that you can help us seek the Kingdom of God.
Mastercraftspeople – Mastercraftspeople lead a guild of pilgrims from activity to activity through the week of VBS. This role includes some lesson preparation and physical presence while VBS is in session (from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.).
Pilgrimage preparers – This role entails preparing the guild rooms for the week of VBS with decorations according to the theme of the week/guild and acquiring any materials the guilds will need to use in their guild rooms. Volunteers in this role are not required to be present during VBS week.
Pilgrimage patrons – Patrons will be responsible for acquiring the materials needed for craft activities during the street fair. During the course of the week pilgrims will experiences 25–30 different crafts. A Pilgrimage patron will choose one or more craft activities and supply the items needed to do a specific activity(ies). A patron will receive a list of required materials and is not responsible for making up the craft activity. This role does not require volunteers to be present during the week of VBS.
Street Fair Artisans – Artisans will lead pilgrims in a specific craft activity during the street fair. This role requires a volunteer to be present at VBS from about 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the day that they are available to lead an activity.
Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or register now if one or more of these roles appeal to you. Last year’s VBS was a rousing success. I hope you will experience A Second Pilgrimage: Still Seeking the Kingdom of God with us this year!
