Beginning in July, the 5:00 p.m. Holy Eucharist monthly schedule will change to the third Sunday only. On Sunday, July 17, our regular Taizé Holy Eucharist service will be offered. Then on the fifth Sunday, July 31, Saints in the Summer continues weekly at 5:00 p.m. through August 21. The new fall schedule for Sunday Evenings at St. Peter’s will be announced soon.

On July 10, the Social Justice Committee will offer a presentation “Episcopalians Vote” on the importance of voting for the common good. On July 17, a documentary giving voice to the witness of transgender people of faith, “Voices of Witness: Out of the Box,” will be shown, followed by a Q&A session moderated by Vestry member and psychologist John Hall and our Associate Rector.

Our first Saints in the Summer liturgy and fellowship meal was enjoyed by over 55 souls from infants to elders. Special thanks go out to the teams who worked on the liturgy, the meal and the formation activity. Parents and children are invited to join Mother Joslyn and one another in the Nursery on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, 11:00 a.m. – noon, for a time of play, prayer, and fellowship. From June 20 through August 22 the parish clergy and staff offices and parish house will be closed on Mondays. Parish House hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. For any hospital or pastoral emergencies concerning a member, contact the Clergy On Call at 704-749-6175 and provide a detailed message for prompt response.

The Clergy and Vestry Coordinators for Worship and The Arts, Abigail Cudabac and Paul Keller, are now recruiting personnel and will collaborate with respective ministry team leaders to offer training sessions or make other appropriate connections for prospective new Acolytes (adult and youth from grade 5), the Altar Guild, Eucharistic Ministers, the Flower Guild, Lectors, Morning Prayer Officiants, the St. Peter’s Choir, and Ushers. Training sessions will be offered between August and September to begin new ministry in Fall 2016. Here at last is the summer workday schedule: Saturday, July 9, 10:00 a.m.-Noon; Wednesday, July 13, 9:00-11:00 a.m.; week of July 18 to be announced; Friday, July 29, 9:00-11:00 a.m.; Wednesday, August 3, 9:00-11:00 a.m.; Saturday, August 6, 10:00 a.m.-Noon. We only have one per week scheduled, so please do come help. We are also looking for folks willing to gather together to tend to the garden one day during the week of July 18-24 when all of our leaders are out of town. It would be a great blessing if a group of you could come weed, harvest, and tie up any of our peppers and eggplants that may have fallen down. If interested, please contact Margaret Rudisill (email@example.com) so she can get you all together. During the first week of August, we will be starting seeds for our fall crops and preparing our beds for fall planting. We need all hands on deck!
