Study of “My Accidental Jihad” continues. The Reverend Keith C. Lane, Assisting Priest, will facilitate a study of My Accidental
Jihad on Wednesdays, November 15 and 29, 6:30–7:30 p.m. in the Tower Room. Learn more and register to attend.
Sunday Formation for Adults, November 19, 9:30 a.m. The Parish Hall Forum presents “All Things Come of Thee, O Lord: Practicing Gratitude in a Thankless World,” a discussion with lay leaders and the Reverend Ollie V. Rencher. It will also include highlights from the November 17–18 Annual Convention of the Diocese of North Carolina.
Advent Retreat: Stillness in Center City, Saturday, December 2.The Reverend Jacob E. Pierce will facilitate an instructed time of quiet, exploration, and spiritual formation at St. Peter’s, 8:30 a.m. –1:00 p.m. Learn more and register here.

2018 Annual Fund Campaign Update. 218 pledges totaling $756,327 have been received toward the one-million-dollar goal of Giving with Gratitude: Support Life at St. Peter’s as of November 13. To offer your pledge support toward the 2018 parish budget being drafted by the Finance Committee for the December 10 Annual Meeting of the Parish, visit www.st-peters.org/give18.
Delegation to Annual Diocesan Convention, November 17–18. Parish delegates John Hall, Josephine Hicks, Doug Hutto, Amy Dillon King, and Dave Lavoie will join the Reverends Ollie V. Rencher and Jacob E. Pierce in Winston-Salem. On November 19, our delegates will offer convention highlights at the 9:30 a.m. Parish Hall Forum, including reflections about the Friday “Becoming Beloved Community” panel on which parishioner Tony Craghead will serve. Annual Youth Advent Fair: November 26, December 3 and 10. Prepare for the season by purchasing items at St. Peter’s to benefit our next youth pilgrimage. Advent candles and wreaths, Christmas ornaments, Anglican prayer beads, St. Peter’s recycled glass ornaments, “Chico” reusable grocery bags, St. Peter’s long and short-sleeve t-shirts, and AutoBell tickets will be available. A Charlotte Conversation with Culinary Historian and Cultural Lightning Rod, Michael Twitty: Monday, November 27. Parishioners Susan and Des Keller and The Dunhill Hotel + Asbury Restaurant will host a Charlotte community conversation with Michael W. Twitty at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Annual Meeting and Parish Life Day: Sunday, December 10. All members and newcomers are invited and encouraged to attend the Annual Meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall. This one-hour occasion will undertake key business matters, including the election of the 2018-2020 Class of Vestry members, review of a 2018 parish budget draft from the Finance Committee and Vestry, and a state-of-the-parish address from the Rector. Altar Flowers and Eucharistic Supplies: In Honor or Memory. To honor or memorialize loved ones or celebrate special occasions in meaningful ways, consider giving Altar flowers and Eucharistic supplies. Special Music Fund Gifts for December. A special music fund was established as a restricted fund to enrich our worship through the enhancement of music and additional instrumentalists made possible by gifts above and beyond pledges to the annual fund. All may offer gifts in honor or memory of loved ones to support music to be offered during Advent and Christmas. You may give online or make checks payable to “St. Peter’s Ben Outen Music Fund” for delivery to the parish office.

Outreach and Social Justice
Room in the Inn: Volunteer Call and Pre-Season Event, November 29. On each Wednesday evening from December 6 through March 28, St. Peter’s will participate in Room in the Inn (RITI) by providing a warm, welcoming place where twelve neighbors can share a meal and sleep in our Parish Hall.
