Hearing Assistance Available. We are excited to announce that St. Peter’s is now equipped with a hearing assistance system. The wireless system is designed to help individuals needing auditory assistance to overcome background noise, reverberation, and distance from the sound source. Individuals can use personal receivers anywhere within the Nave to hear crystal-clear sound directly from the sound source. The single headphone is looped over an ear and volume is adjusted on the receiver. Telecoil / T-loop connectivity is currently pending. Please contact Brian Whitley, Facilities Manager, for a personal receiver on Sunday mornings.

This retreat is for long-time volunteers, those who are new to a ministry, those who wish to be trained, or those who simply want to learn more. Ushers, Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Welcome Hosts, and Healing Ministers are encouraged to attend. Planning an Event at St. Peter’s? Here’s what we need from you! St. Peter’s holds a number of events each year that enrich the lives of our community. We want to continue doing so, but can only help if setup details are submitted five days prior to the event date (any later than this will result in self-setup and possibly event cancellation). If you are considering the use of space at St. Peter’s, please contact Kristie Lauderbaugh, Ministry Associate, (firstname.lastname@example.org, 704-749-6141).
Summer Sunday Coffee Hour. A note from our Coffee Hour Baristas regarding Summer Coffee Hour: We love serving you after the 10:45 a.m. service, but due to our summer vacations, we will be providing only coffee, lemonade, and water for the next few weeks. We will be back in action with refreshments beginning August 26. As always, we welcome food offerings from parishioners throughout the year, and summer is no exception. Just drop them by the break room before the service.
Pastoral Care: Sharing and Responding to Concerns. To alert the clergy regarding a pastoral concern, telephone the Parish House during office hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.) and after-hours, dial the Clergy On Call Phone at 704-749-6175 for pastoral emergencies such as hospitalizations. This protocol is the best way to communicate pastoral needs and ensure a response from a member of the clergy or pastoral care team.

Outreach and Social Justice
Pride at St. Peter’s, August 18 and 19. The St. Peter’s Pride Team has been hard at work preparing for our congregation’s participation in Charlotte Pride. Our theme this year is “Love is the Way,” inspired by our Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. We hope you will help us welcome and connect with our neighbors at this event and help us share the Jesus Movement with our community. As in past years, we will provide hospitality to parade marchers and viewers on the church lawn and host a potluck lunch in the community room following the parade on Sunday, August 19.
New this year, St. Peter’s will also have a booth in the festival on Saturday and Sunday. The booth will be an opportunity to welcome and connect with our neighbors. If you would like to be an ambassador for St. Peter’s at the booth, march in the parade, or help provide hospitality, please fill out this form.
St. Peter’s Pride Team Meetings The Pride Team at St. Peter’s is hosting several meetings to organize the volunteer effort for our participation in Charlotte Pride. We will meet two more times before Pride weekend. All are welcome to join us.
