As the world begins to “re-open” and those gatherings we’ve been waiting over a year for are underway, we at St. Peter’s also have the chance to participate in a celebration more than one year in the making.
On Wednesday, July 14 at 7:00 p.m., we will join together in a Celebration of New Ministry worship service to commemorate the installation of the Reverend Jacob E. Pierce as the 34th Rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Because Father Jacob’s role transitioned from Priest-In-Charge to Rector last spring during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have not yet been able to celebrate as a community of faith.
This Celebration of New Ministry is an opportunity for our parish to come together to rejoice in the covenant that we make with our Rector to worship and carry out our various ministries in mutual support of one another. Bishop Samuel Rodman and others from the diocese will join us for this service. Registration is not required to attend; an online livestream will be provided. As per diocesan recommendations, masks are required indoors throughout the service. Weather permitting, a reception will follow outdoors at the church.
We have so much to be grateful for at St. Peters. Throughout the last year, we have adapted and evolved to ensure that we could continue to inspire love of God and love of neighbor here in our community and beyond. So come, join us, as we celebrate the life of this parish and the service of our newest Rector, the Reverend Jacob E. Pierce.
I look forward to seeing you there.
