Reengagement Sunday is almost here! You’ve heard us talk about this for months, and we are so excited that it is finally time. This coming Sunday we will celebrate the Feast of St. Peter in our worship services, showcase opportunities for joining our many areas of ministry at our Ministry Fair, and celebrate together at an outdoor block party on 7th Street. This day will be a wonderful way to re-engage as we begin a new programming year and learn about the many exciting things going on at St. Peter’s!
Reengagement Sunday will also mark the official beginning of our 2022 Annual Giving Campaign. First, I want to thank all of you who brought us through a very strange year with your grace and generosity. In a time of so many unknowns, the St. Peter’s community never stopped giving and all our needs were met. This year, there are so many reasons to feel hopeful and grateful as we all consider how to invest our resources in the work God is calling us to do. Your 2022 pledge will support all our ministry areas, provide for the practical needs of the parish, and help us maintain our beautiful home in Uptown Charlotte.
The Ministry Fair will provide an opportunity to learn about other ways to invest our gifts and to talk personally with fellow parishioners who lead our many areas of ministry. We invite you to join us upstairs in the parish house from 10:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. Tables will be spread out to encourage distancing and an easy-flow as we move from ministry area to ministry area.
For our block party, we have closed down 7th Street beside the church. Please join us immediately following the 11:15 a.m. service for fellowship and fun as we reconnect with one another. Two food trucks will be present for us to purchase lunch from and there will be children’s crafts and activities available. A good time will be had by all!
I look forward to seeing you all at church on August 29!
The Reverend Amanda C. Stephenson, Associate Rector
