Restoring all the stained glass and brownstone is estimated at a cost of more than $7MM, but we were glad to learn that these repairs can be temporarily delayed without causing additional damage. We plan to begin the most urgent restoration process now, as part of the $5.6MM budget in the Campaign For St. Peter’s and the remaining work will happen over the next ten years.  This allows the Parish to spread the cost over time.We will fundraise for those additional needs once this capital campaign has come to a successful conclusion.

We may find it necessary to take on short term debt so we can begin renovation and construction before all pledges have been fulfilled. Only debt that provides a “bridge” to cover future revenue from pledges will be incurred.

Absolutely. St. Peter’s is unique in its commitment to equally addressing what happens under our own roof and the needs of the broader community. We plan to tithe the proceeds of this campaign to needs in the greater Charlotte region.

All planned gifts benefit the St. Peter’s Endowment, which in turn provides annual resources to address the upkeep of our historic property, extraordinary expenses, and other urgent needs. Any planned gifts received during the Capital Campaign will follow the Endowment Policy as adopted by the Vestry.

Our plan is for the mosaic to have a new home as a defining element of the renovated chapel.

Technology now allows for interior stained glass to be lit in ways that closely resemble natural light.

The ramp will be five feet wide, accommodating not only a wheelchair but also two-way traffic.

A few seats will be lost to accommodate the ramp.

The roof remains a priority, but overall project scheduling will depend on pledge commitments and the availability of the contractors needed to complete the work. We are in the process of hiring a project manager who will be responsible for scheduling out the various projects and managing deadlines.

The chancel project is in its very preliminary stages, with designs and contracts for the woodwork being finalized. We expect that construction in the chancel will take place in the second half of 2027.
