Holy Week and Easter

In Holy Week we witness our Lord’s suffering and death, the darkness and abandonment of the tomb, the despair of rejection and betrayal. But Easter leads us out of despair and into hope, out of the tomb and into new life.

The Resurrection of Jesus is the very meaning of God’s love. Through our Lord’s Resurrection we know that sin and death will not have the final word: “that things which were cast down are being raised up, and things which had grown old are being made new, and that all things are being brought to their perfection by him through whom all things were made…” (Book of Common Prayer, p. 280.)

For the first time since 2019, in nearly three years, we will celebrate Holy Week and Easter in person at St. Peter’s. I invite you to join us for this powerful and holy observance.

May the joy of this Easter bring a new season of hope and gratitude in our lives and in the lives of those we meet on the way.

Changes to Parking Deck Validation Effective Sunday, April 3. Our parking validation scanners are being discontinued by the owners of the parking deck next week. You will still be able to validate your parking ticket for free parking while at St. Peter’s by using paper “chaser” tickets. Single-use chaser tickets will be in the same locations as the validators. Be sure to pick one up every time you visit St. Peter’s and park in the parking deck in order to leave without paying.

The chaser ticket is basically a form of payment. Depending on which exit you use (7th or 8th Street), insert or scan the original parking ticket, the system will display a fee, then insert or scan the chaser ticket. Both the original parking ticket and the chaser ticket are required to exit the garage. During the transition, we plan to station Sunday volunteers at both exits to assist parishioners as they leave the parking deck.
