All Together Now!  Charlotte Earth Day 2022

What could be a better way to commence our Eastertide than to joyfully celebrate our beautiful Earth with family and friends? We are so fortunate that Charlotte Earth Day, three years in the making while COVID lingered, will finally be happening Saturday, April 23 in First Ward Park, 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Produced by OMIMEO, a local performance company that has specialized in theatrical family entertainment for many years, Charlotte Earth Day will be a “family learning celebration.” There will be many fun and interactive activities, performances, puppets, parades, music, dancing, food trucks, and exhibitors. The centerpiece of the event is a playful, child-centered treasure hunt to learn about the Earth and become an Earth Kid.  Please bring the whole family to enjoy this very special day.

Let’s also be good neighbors and help out by volunteering and donating, if possible. This will be a fun and easy way to give back to our community. Links for this free event, volunteering, and donating are on the event website charlotteearthday.com.

Take into your hearts these good words from OMIMEO:

Today we say, “Yes to the Good!” as we recognize and celebrate the beauty and diversity of the ecosystems that sustain all life on Earth.  Our theme is “interconnectivity,” and our mission is “Environmental Awareness.” We believe that a great awakening is happening in the hearts and minds the world over. We want today’s celebration to be a new beginning for each of us to renew our dedication to making our world a healthier place for the succeeding generations. It is up to all of us, individually and collectively, as concerned citizens of the earth. All Together Now!

Coffee Hour Volunteers Needed. Coffee Hour will return on April 24 after the 11:15 a.m. service, but we need your help. The Coffee Hour ministry is working to rebuild our Coffee Hour Teams. Volunteering would include helping to set up and/or clean up, our hope being each volunteer would only be asked to work one Sunday per month. If you are interested in volunteering to help out with this wonderful ministry please contact Harris Holt (harrisholt3@gmail.com) or Mother Amanda (astephenson@st-peters.org).
